Leicester City have confirmed that defender Danny Simpson and striker Shinji Okazaki will leave the club this summer.
Simpson, described as in the club s tributary post on the official website, arrived to the King Power stadium in the summer of 2014, and Okazaki, , joined him there 12 months later. They were both a huge part of the most successful period in Leicester s history, the crown of which was the winning of the 2015/16 Premier League title. They also played big roles in their Champions League run the following season, which can be considered to have been successful as well.
Okazaki has played a total of 128 games for the Foxes in all competitions, scoring 19 goals and proving a very efficient partner for the team s main striker Jamie Vardy under former manager Claudio Ranieri. He had a much more prominent role to play for Japan, scoring 50 goals in 114 games and winning the 2011 AFC Asian Cup with his national side.
Simpson played a total of 131 games for Leicester and has provided a reliable option on their right defensive flank over the five years he has spent there.
