Minamino joins Liverpool: How versatile January addition compares to Firmino, Mane and Salah

Takumi Minamino is officially a Liverpool player. A transfer story that broke suddenly has been wrapped up well before Christmas, let alone the January window opening.

The Reds had barely touched down after playing Salzburg in the Champions League when journalists in the know began reporting a potential deal. Within hours, the Austrian club officially confirmed negotiations were taking place after a reported £7.25million release clause was met.

Liverpool saw what the Japan international can offer during the two games between the teams in Europe.

Indeed, Minamino has already scored at Anfield, finding the net in a 4-3 loss back in October. There is a video on Twitter of Jurgen Klopp nodding his head approvingly at that goal, cheekily suggesting he knew all alon…

Signings at Spurs? Vardy at the Euros? What Tottenham and England can do to cope without Kane

Harry Kane is not expected to return to training until April in a huge blow to both Tottenham and England.

The Spurs striker suffered a ruptured tendon in his left hamstring in the Premier League defeat to Southampton this month, and the club confirmed on Thursday he would undergo surgery.

The latest estimate for Kane s lay-off should concern Tottenham fans, with the team sixth and six points off a Champions League place, while England manager Gareth Southgate will also be worried as Euro 2020 approaches.

So, will Spurs stick or twist in the transfer market? And does Southgate have an alternative to his talismanic captain?

6 In the last six Premier League matches that Harry Kane has played no part in for Tottenham Hotspur, they have picked up just five po…

Man United can expect success – Stankovic lauds Mourinho effect

Dejan Stankovic is sure former boss Jose Mourinho will restore the glory days at Manchester United as he told supporters to expect success from the Special One .

Identified by United s hierarchy in the off-season to lead the Premier League club back among Europe s elite, Mourinho has overseen signs of improvement but also some teething problems at Old Trafford.

Since replacing Louis van Gaal and investing heavily in Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly, Mourinho has won the EFL Cup and is preparing for the Europa League quarter-finals, but United are stumbling in the race for the top four.

Tuesday s last-gasp draw at home to Everton their ninth at the Theatre of Dreams this season and 12th overall in the Premier League left United si…

Barcelona wait it out over Neymar

According to a recent report from AS, Barcelona club president Joseph Maria Bartomeu has not kickstarted negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain over any kind of deal for Neymar. The belief is that they are confident Real Madrid aren’t interested in trying to bring him in anymore, meaning they will be able to take their good sweet time before making an effort to sign the Brazilian.

Neymar’s future has been uncertain for quite some time now, with the man himself indicating over the summer that he would be intrigued by the possibility of a return to the Nou Camp.

His first spell with the club didn’t exactly end perfectly but when you consider just how talented he is, we can’t imagine Barca fans will care too much if they do manage to bring him back.

Man United to offer swap deal for Eriksen?

According to a recent report from Calciomercato, Manchester United are more than willing to offer Tottenham Hotspur a player swap deal for Christian Eriksen in order to try and secure a deal for the Dane during the January transfer window. Eriksen has made it clear to Tottenham that he is not interested in signing any sort of new deal when his contract comes to an end during the summer transfer window.

The belief is that he will be heading abroad with Real Madrid being very interested, but that’s not necessarily a guarantee. United have made it known that they want to put forward some kind of bid, and now, the details of the bid could be coming to light.

The player that could be included in the swap deal is Nemanja Matic who has failed to set the world on fire si…

Leicester confirm Simpson and Okazaki departures

Leicester City have confirmed that defender Danny Simpson and striker Shinji Okazaki will leave the club this summer.

Simpson, described as in the club s tributary post on the official website, arrived to the King Power stadium in the summer of 2014, and Okazaki, , joined him there 12 months later. They were both a huge part of the most successful period in Leicester s history, the crown of which was the winning of the 2015/16 Premier League title. They also played big roles in their Champions League run the following season, which can be considered to have been successful as well.

Okazaki has played a total of 128 games for the Foxes in all competitions, scoring 19 goals and proving a very efficient partner for the team s main striker Jamie Vardy under former manager…

Who could potentially be on Manchester United’s list to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer?

While Manchester United might head into October s international break sat in the top-four, it doesn t cover what has been a largely inconsistent start to the 2021/22 campaign.

Throwing away the lead at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon as they saw snatch a deserved 1-1 draw, some sections of the United fanbase have made it clear that they do not think Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the man to take them forward.

With their Norweigan boss entering his fourth season with the former Premier League champions, many from across England feel that this is Solskjaer s season to finally mount a serious title charge.

However, showing some European issues since opening their Champions League adventure last month, the Reds have failed to gain any momentum heading into the second i…

Ter Stegen desperate for more trophies after extending Barcelona contract

Marc-Andre ter Stegen is desperate for more trophies after committing his future to Barcelona by signing a new contract.

The Catalans announced last month that Ter Stegen, Gerard Pique, Frenkie de Jong and Clement Lenglet had all agreed to extensions.

The Germany goalkeeper s new deal runs until 2025 and contains a release clause of €500million.

Ter Stegen, who returned to action this month after a knee injury, has been one of Barca s few major transfer success stories in recent seasons.

The 28-year-old, who signed from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2014, has won 12 trophies with Barca including four LaLiga titles, four Copas del Rey and the 2014-15 Champions League.

Ter Stegen has felt at home in the city since his arrival and is now keen for mor…
